Bhuvneshwar Kumar will lead the team in the first match against Rajasthan Royals on April 2 in the absence of Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Aidan Markram.

Bhuvneshwar Kumare today represented the Sunrisers team in a photo shoot where all the captains took part before the IPL trophy.

India will travel to South Africa on April 3 to play a 2-match ODI series against the Netherlands in March. This ODI series against Netherlands is crucial for South Africa to qualify directly for this year’s ODI World Cup in India.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has previously led Sunrisers Hyderabad 6 times in 2019 and once in 2022. Sunrisers won only two of these matches.

After finishing 8th in the points table last IPL season, Sunrisers team management has made a lot of changes. The most significant notable change was the release of Kane Williamson from the team and handing over the captaincy to Markram.

He led the Sunrisers Eastern Cape team to the trophy in the recently concluded SAD20 league. Apart from that, he is also the 3rd highest run scorer in this tournament. Markram scored 369 runs with a strike rate of 127 and took 11 wickets with the bowling.

Apart from Markram, Marco Janssen and Heinrich Klaasen will also miss Sunrisers Hyderabad’s first match. Thus, Harry Brook, Glenn Phillips, Adil Rashid, Basalhaq Farooqui and Aqeel Hossain are the only foreign players who are ready to play in Sunrisers’ first game.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Lucknow Supergiants in their second match on April 7.
